Situation

The situation of our department

Excellent teachers
There are 16 professors, 10 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, and 1 project assistant professors in our department now. Our professors not only have professional accomplishments and plentiful practical experience, but also have high teaching passion and the spirit of research. Therefore, the research plan of NSC and various achievements of the research in our department are excellent.

Superior research equipment

Besides the usual equipment for necessary of the research, we have bought atomic force microscope, sputters, the related equipment for Virtual Reality, (Head mount type display, Information gloves, Space tracking device, and so on.) Thermal Analyzers, dilatometers, and the Dynamic thermomechanical testing machine in recent years. Also, due to the allowance from the Ministry of Education, we set up Technology R & D Center of MEMS and Precision Machinery. The related equipment about MEMS and Precision Machinery that we have purchased are Micro Injection Molding, wet etching machine, Photo Resist Spinner, pressure oven, Excimer Laser, Electron microscope, mask aligner, metallographic/toolmaker microscope, and the
precision instruments with 0.1μm level of stage. They are all offered to research.

Future development
After master students entered the school in 2002 and PhD students entered it in 2007, there are more and more undergraduates in the department. By this, teachers can broaden a lot of new fields of their research. In addition, they train their graduates who can compete with General Higher Education graduates. This is one of the important teaching objectives. How to think outside the box during the courses designing? Also, compensating the weak basic courses in higher vocational education is the direction that we will follow in the future. Our vision is that every teacher pays attention to teaching, help, and research and that all students care about their learning more (ex: courses, life, relationship…).  We hope they could inspire each other, and grow up together.
